Hot real estate market, hot for buyers and renters and up and coming on job growth and entertainment, Seattle Magazine recently announced the 9 hottest neighborhoods in Seattle for 2016.
Let’s take a look at each one of these and why they made the list and how you can be a part of these growing and thriving neighborhoods.
Downtown Bothell –
While not actually in the city limits, Bothell, found just 20 minutes northeast of downtown, has been known to put itself on the map for a variety of reasons. Bothell is underway to develop more than $150 million in new infrastructure and facility improvements to its downtown area including shifting a portion of State Route 522 right through town. This will change the landscape of much of the downtown core paving the way for future development, hundreds of residential units, restaurants, markets and hotels. The first phase of this multi-your development is already up and running with the construction of Anderson School, McMenamin’s new hotel and restaurant entertainment center in the heart of Bothell. This new project has been several years in the making and recently opened last November. The Village at Beardslee Crossing is over 75% complete developing over 450 apartments and 50,000 ft.² of commercial and retail space. Bothell’s historic Main Street comprises several blocks of established shops and restaurants and the new enhancement project will preserve the charm of this 100-year-old district creating new retail developments, over 100 townhomes and mixed-use properties bringing additional housing, office and retail space to downtown Bothell. If it’s been a while since you’ve discovered Bothell, you may need to rediscover all the new amenities and developments currently in the works.
Seattle’s Ravenna district –
This district is located just north of the University District, east of Interstate 5 between Wedgewood, Northeast Seattle and Bryant. The median home value is about $685,000 and most residents of Ravenna say it is one of the most convenient neighborhoods in Seattle. Basically, Ravenna is a “Classic Reborn” with trendy coffee shops, markets and the Ravenna Park located in the southern end of the neighborhood. Whether it’s the holiday light displays, the fantastic housing market with a convenient quality of life, Ravenna has been at the top of the Seattle neighborhood list for some time. Ravenna recently came in as one of the top hottest real estate markets in Seattle with 43% of homes sold over the asking price and 57% of homes sold in the first eight days. The median sale price for this areas $522,000.
Columbia City –
Known as Renaissance Redux, Columbia City has caught the eye of multiple developers and many people are realizing the draw to Columbia city. It’s located nearby the sound transit Central Link light rail station and provides ample daily amenities such as a farmer’s market and growing list of popular restaurants. One of the neighborhood’s largest developments is currently underway bringing nearly 200 new units in the Columbia city area, surprisingly found south of downtown just north of Beacon Hill and close to Rainier Vista. The Jefferson Park golf course, Lake Washington and the VA Puget Sound health care system are also close by and with a quick commute I- 5, Columbia City makes a great location for residential home buyers and developers.
